Degree program assessment is supported and monitored by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on behalf of the University Assessment Committee and the Office of the Provost. Reporting on and use of results of assessment of student learning is required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Academic departments at EKU are required to articulate student learning objectives for each degree program, option, certificate and minor and to design and implement assessment measures to ascertain progress towards those student learning objectives. Details concerning assessment plans can be found at the above links. Academic departments are required to submit annual progress reports delineating results of student learning assessment and the use of results for improvement.

Details concerning criteria used to review degree program assessment of student learning and procedures for submitting annual progress reports can be accessed through the above links.
